-Further frustration at Thruxton!
With the team arriving at Thruxton on Sunday morning with an engine which was known to be underpowered, the team hoped for lots of rain and ‘boy’ did it come down before race 1 although it stopped just enough prior to the start for all the teams to be in turmoil pondering on which tyres to use.

In the hope of further rain, ROGE started with full wets.

With the race underway, ROGE reported that the track was still very wet although we were told that this had happened yesterday and the tracked dried very quickly and therefore we hoped that the rain would soon start to fall again.

The power difference on the #69 truck was very obvious, although, impressively, ROGE still pulled away from a handful of trucks in the wet conditions, until on lap 6 ROGE reported on the radio that the truck had developed a misfire and shortly afterwards he reported the engine had cut out and that he had pulled over and out of the race.

Ironically, at that very point, it started to rain again!

With the #69 truck back in the garage, the news wasn’t good. There was no compression and the initial feeling was that maybe one of the pistons had broken down causing untold damage to the engine.

Once again, the team were now spectators!

Although another disappointment, the team are still planning to totally rebuild the engine ready for the DTM meeting in 4 weeks!

Please check back for further updates in preparation for the next meeting.

Saturday 2nd August
-Rain showers brings more good news ahead of Thruxton
With the spare (and underpowered!) engine being used this weekend, it would appear that the predicted rain showers for Sunday might help ROGE in both races.

The wet weather is always a ‘leveler and I’m sure unlike many other drivers, ROGE will certainly be pleased to see it wet (.............infact, the wetter the better!)

This weekend the team hope to be sharing their garage with NOAH!

Friday 1st August
-Double goods news ahead of Thruxton
The first good bit of news received from ROGE and the crew at the workshop is that the blown engine is now out of the #69 truck and the spare engine is back in and up and running. The team have a bit more work to do tomorrow ready for the two races on Sunday.

The other bit of great news (which has certainly raised the team spirit!) is that RACING ROB has opted to go to watch the National Hot Rod ‘train’ at Hednesford competing for the National championship! The results of the national championship will be available just before the hot rods line up for the final, just ask someone if you can see the grid line-up!!!!!!!!

Monday 28th July
-Donington Downer!
This weekend saw the pickup trucks visit Donington.

The meeting was condensed down to one day which involved an early morning practice and two races later in the day.

ROGE survived the practice period although he was not happy with the power from the engine which has only just been rebuilt following it blowing at Mondello.

For the first race, ROGE started near the back (a penalty imposed within the regulations for not attending the last event of the championship at Rockingham), and from the green flag, ROGE battled with the rear markers as the quicker trucks disappeared into the distance!

ON lap 5, ROGE radioed through to say that suddenly the #69 truck had lost power and that he would attempt to roll into the pit area.

Upon further investigation once back into the garage the team found that the cam belt had snapped and the engine proceeded to destroy itself. The truck was loaded up and for the rest of the event the team were just spectators!

The team are currently working out if we are able to attend the next event this weekend at Thruxton. Check back soon for the latest news!

-Joy and heartache in one lap!
The first two rounds of this years championship took place at Brands Hatch over the weekend with ROGE looking very strong in race 1 only to spin off whilst pulling away from the trailing pack and a 12th in a shortened race 2 starting from the rear of the grid.
