Budgets for racing pickup trucks:
This is one area of pickup truck racing that we would rather not talk about on the website as the girls will find out the truth of what we actually spend rather than what we tell them we spend. If you promise not to tell them, we will provide you the details of what our budget is!
As a rule of thumb, our budget is approximately £1000 per meeting which covers the fuel cost of the van and our motorhome, fuel for the pickup truck, the entry fee (currently at £300 per meeting), radio license, a new tyre (approximately £180 and limited to only one per meeting) and a few pounds for some consumables. On top of that is outgoings for damage repairs and of course this will depend on how hard you crash! General consensus is that the less you smash your truck up the cheaper it remains to race!
Second hand complete trucks can be bought for around £17000-
