TASTER DAY 2011 -
At Rockingham (International Long Circuit)
Once again ROGERS RACING (Lee Rogers #69) and JFF Motorsport (Stuart Annibal) have teamed up to organise another 'taster day' following the success and enjoyment of last years event. The event at Rockingham is on Sunday 20th November with the idea being that potential new drivers and teams can come along to talk to the existing drivers and also have some 'seat' time driving one of the trucks (without the pressures of a race day timetable!)
In order to keep costs to a minimum, we will be joining up with Book-
The outline of the event will be as follows;
The event is to be run on Sunday 20th November starting at 8am (please arrive by 7:30am) and finishing at 5pm.
Each driver will get a minimum of two 15 minute sessions driving a truck. Each driver must bring along their normal driving license but do not need a MSA racing license. In between their sessions, it is hoped that the new drivers will then be able to talk to the existing teams and management to ask any questions they may have. Information packs will be available on the day.
The track day will take part on the International Circuit which will allow the new driver to sample both the circuit and a 'section' of the oval.
The trucks will be fitted with a passenger seat so that for the first session an existing pickup truck driver can go out for guidance and instruction purposes. It is hoped that for the second session the new driver could go out with a member of their team in the passenger seat (passengers must be over 16). Disclaimers must be signed.
This event is not a speed event. It is to be used as a opportunity to sample driving these trucks and to obtain further information.
We have worked out costings for the event to include the track hire and fuel costs to break even. The cost of the event will be £150 per driver. This does not include personal injury insurance and the drivers will be asked to sign an agreement to confirm that any damage to the trucks will have to be paid for.
Complimentary tea and coffee refreshments will be available.
As well as trucks on track, we will also have additional 'static' trucks within the paddock for discussion purposes.
Championship director Sonny Howard and his wife Barbara have agreed to attend to answer questions and support this event.
Please only those genuinely interested in racing a truck for next year or beyond should contact us as places are very limited.
