‘Taster Day’ at Rockingham:

With the help of several of the other drivers, the team organised a ‘taster day’ at Rockingham with the purpose being to allow potential and interested drivers to sit in and drive a pickup truck and to be able to ask questions and find out more from the many teams who supported the event.

Although this was not an official pickup truck racing event, race director Sonny Howard attended.

On the day there were 10 trucks on track and 4 trucks on static display and 12 drivers took the opportunity to drive the trucks on what turned out to be a very foggy and damp day although this did little to damped the spirits of those sampling pickup truck racing or the existing teams who used the day to allow team member to drive the very trucks they spend all year preparing and repairing!

The day turned out to be a great success with a lot of the drivers asking about trucks for sell and to hire and all the names of those who attended have now been passed out to the pickup truck racing management.

Although this ‘taster day’ took a huge amount of time to organise and it is unlikely that such a day will be repeated many felt that this sort of day was a massive opportunity to showcase pickup truck racing and we are sure that the day raised a lot of interest and ‘certainly’ a positive buzz about our racing.

The team would like to express their sincere gratitude to those other drivers and teams that made the day so memorable and a special thanks to Lee Rogers and Stuart Annibal who bravely agreed to offer their trucks for the taster session drivers without any hesitation or black mailing!
